Where is the data?
Steve Orleow is Head of Technology and Insights. His focus: Operational excellence. His brief: to optimise restaurant profitability. His challenge: when he went looking for the data to help him understand the profitability, he couldn’t find it. Initially he started scraping data into Power BI and producing some reports that the users thought were useful. But with 22 datasets that he needed to draw on, he knew this wasn’t a sustainable approach.
Beautiful reports built on top of a solid data foundation
Steve started investing in a proper data platform using Microsoft SQL Server and Analysis Services. And adopting the company philosophy of always going with best of breed, he committed to using Power BI as his reporting and dashboard tool and brought in Agile Analytics to help him on his journey.
Report and Dashboards are delivered to both desktop and mobile devices, including smart phones, allowing restaurant managers to monitor business on the move without needing to return to their desk.
Data driven decision making in a quickly changing world.
Restaurant managers can see in how they are performing and benchmark themselves against other restaurants in near real time. The sense of competition motivates staff and fosters teamwork while giving senior leaders visibility of underperforming restaurants and the ability to drill down to understand why and what can be done.
